Matchplay Golf's Chosen Charity Is A Very Worthy Cause...

Support our fight for CURE & Provide HOPE for DIPG kids!

Abbie's Army is a children's DIPG brain tumour research charity, formed in loving memory of Abbie Mifsud. She was a beautiful daughter and brave little girl who lost her fight with an inoperable and incurable (DIPG) brain tumour on September 13th, 2011. She was just 6 years old.

DIPG or 'Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma' is the MOST FATAL form of childhood brain cancer which grows in the PONS area of the brainstem making surgery impossible. Currently there are NO effective treatments or a cure available. The average survival time from diagnosis is just 9 months.

Abbie passed away 5 months after her DIPG diagnosis. Can YOU imagine? the most fatal cancer with the least to be done?...

The situation for DIPG kids is UNACCEPTABLE.

Our mission is to RAISE awareness and contribute funding for DIPG research. DIPG affects 40 children a year in the UK with no direct Government funding, all research is supported by the parent led charities who have all lost a child to the disease. It may be too late to help our beautiful daughter but we can all commit to helping the DIPG families of the future. ANY donation that can aid research and development of new treatments for these children, who currently have NO options, is extremely worthwhile. After decades of despair for parents with a steady stream of patients, only the investment to find a cure will provide the hope needed for DIPG kids in the future.

EVERY 9 DAYS A CHILD IN THE UK IS DIAGNOSED WITH DIPG.

1 CHILD DIES EVERY 3 DAYS FROM A BRAIN TUMOUR IN THE UK.

Charity Registration 1149400. (Reg Oct 2012)
