Montecastillo Golf is an 18 hole Signature par 72 parkland course designed by the one and only Jack Nicklaus. It was host to the Volvo Masters for 5 consecutive years from 1997 to 2001, highlighting the consistent quality of this remarkable layout.

Golf Itinerary:
Monday 10th 1st round - tee times from approx 8:30am
Tues 11th 2nd round - tee times from approx. 08.30am
Wed 12th 3rd round - tee times from approx. 08.30am
Thurs 13th 4th round - tee times from approx. 08.30am

Scoring format:

Play will be in fourballs on all four days. The scoring format will be Betterball Stableford with 85% of Course Handicap allowance. The maximum handicap limits will be 24 for men and 36 for ladies.

Accommodation:
Accommodation is booked for arrival on Sunday 9th and departure on Friday 14th March '25.

Set within the Montecastillo Golf Course, guests at the Barceló Montecastillo Resort can enjoy golf. The modern resort features 2 outdoor pools, a well-equipped spa center and free WiFi.
Facilities at the Barceló Montecastillo include tennis courts and a fitness center. The spa features a hydrotherapy circuit, a sauna and a Turkish bath. There is also an 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The El Lagar restaurant offers international and Spanish cuisine, while the Ricardo's Bar serves snacks.
Barceló Montecastillo Resort Hotel is well located for the A-4 and the A-382 motorways. Jérez is a short drive away and can be reached in 15 minutes by car. Seville is an hour's drive from the hotel.

Daily Draw:

The draw for the first two rounds will be on the website by 5.00 on Sunday 10th March. The draws for the last two rounds will be made in score order.

Tees: Tees of the Day for Men & Ladies

WHS Handicap:

The competition is open to all male and female golfers who are current members of a golf club with an active WHS Handicap or the equivalent handicap overseas.

Prizes:

There will be prizes for the leading three scores each day.
To avoid any excess baggage charges prizes will be in the form of vouchers for American Golf as follows:
Daily vouchers: 1st - £100, 2nd - £50, 3rd - £25

Overall vouchers: 1st - £200, 2nd - £125, 3rd - £75

Buggies:

Buggies are NOT included. (Approx 40 euro per buggy)

Flights are NOT included

Airport transfers are not included.
Jerez is the closest airport and is 10 minutes by Car
Seville is about 1 hr away by Car
Gibraltar is 1.5hrs away by Car

Easyjet operate flights to Gibraltar from Edinburgh, Manchester, London Gatwick & Bristol. They also operate flights from LGW to Seville

"The Spanish pairs at Barceló Montecastillo in 2024 was a superbly organised event. This was a return visit after last year and did not disappoint. The weather again was excellent, the goodies we received at the reception meeting, the refreshments offered before each round and the gala dinner were all great value.

We entered with another couple from our club, however, it is an excellent way to meet and enjoy the company of other couples. The 48 couples at the event were good fun and we had a great time as a group.

Montecastillo is a both fair and challenging golf course layout and the greens are in excellent condition. There are plenty of practice facilities, including driving range, practice greens and chipping areas.

The hotel, has a restaurant, spa, indoor & outdoor swimming pool and is on the site of the golf course, therefore you can walk straight from your room onto the course.

We are hoping to return next year and improve on our scores, thank you again to Michael, Liam and the team for an enjoyable and superbly organised event."
